SUB CLUSTERS UNDER VMHC SCHME

The Virudhunagar Mega Handloom Cluster scheme covers around 30,000 weavers from 15 sub clusters spreads over 6 Districts of Tamilnadu. These sub clusters  diverse among themselves  in their  loom types and products woven thereon. While the loom varies from pit loom to frame loom, the products woven thereon vary  from coarser, open structured towels to finer variety sarees. The market for these cluster products also varies from 100% Govt. supply  at one end to 100% Retail sales to another end.

The Virudhunagar Mega Handloom Cluster scheme unifies these sub clusters, in spite of diversities prevalent  in the  form of type of looms, product woven, community belongs to, language spoken, niche market, wages earned etc., and  thrives them to unified, holistic, sustainable progress.
